Roof Material Warranties Don’t Cover Unexpected Damage

While Northwind Exteriors provides a solid workmanship warranty, roofing material manufacturers’ warranties only cover product defects leading to abnormal wear and tear. Manufacturers’ warranties do not cover the cost of repair or replacement to roofs damaged by unexpected weather events, accidents, or other acts of God. That’s where your homeowners insurance comes in.

Northwind Exteriors adheres to a formal process of roof condition evaluation and installation. We want you to know exactly what goes into a high quality roofing job, so we’ll discuss the details of the work at hand and keep you informed during every step in the roofing process.

1. Our knowledgeable team will assess your roof conditions and explain what’s needed to keep your home and its contents protected from the elements of our region’s sometimes harsh seasonal weather conditions.

2. Northwind’s technicians will inspect every aspect of your roof – from the condition of shingles to the integrity of the flashing around your chimney and other roof penetrations. We’ll check the condition of fascia around the eaves of your roof; roof accessories, such as vents, and your gutter system. Northwind photographs the parts of your roof, especially any damaged areas, then we’ll discuss the options for replacing or restoring your roof, including products and labor costs.

3. We’ll review the scope of work with you to make sure you’re comfortable and confident in moving ahead with the project. We’ll get the contract signed and process your initial down payment.

4. Northwind works with you on a start date for the roof replacement. Together, we’ll decide where material should be dropped off when our trucks arrive.

5. When construction gets underway, you’ll know what time to expect us for the removal of your worn-out roofing. When we see what’s underneath the old material, we’ll determine if any repairs or reinforcement to your roof decking is necessary. If there are problems, Northwind Exteriors will fix them!

6. Your new roof will be installed without unnecessary delays or distractions due to other projects we might have underway. We have the personnel ready at all times to treat you with the highest priority. From the first call to Northwind Exteriors Inc., to the completion of the work, we’ll communicate with you so that you’re aware of what’s in store each day.

7. Northwind Exteriors always aims to leave your house, driveway, and yard nicer than when we started the project! We’ll pick up all the old roofing material down to every last nail, and we’ll haul it all away. Once our job is done, your property will look outstanding.
